Rainsville - Nancy Jo Carnahan, 77, formerly of the Rainsville community passed away in the Majestic Care Nursing Center, Lafayette on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 9:15 p.m.
Nancy was born in Warren County, Indiana on December 18, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Owen and Doris Mae (Story) Carnahan. She was a life resident of rural Rainsville.
She did some family babysitting. She was raised in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching classic television shows. She enjoyed cooking and playing board games with family.
Nancy leaves behind three sisters, Dona Sue (Daniel) Long, Lafayette; Joy Ann (Richard) Kelley, Houston, TX and Rena Lea (Al) Parks, Peru, IN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Katherine Carnahan and Betty Dicken along with two brothers, Richard Owen Carnahan and Joseph Albert Carnahan.
A memorial gravesite service will be held at a later date in April in the Rainsville Cemetery, Rainsville, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Downs Syndrome Achievement Center, National Office 2350 West Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169.
