Born in a little white frame house in Warren County, Indiana, Norma McIntosh was born on May 30, 1937. Norma passed away on August 2, 2026 at Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation in Williamsport, Indiana; with Sara and Haley by her side.

She was the only girl, growing up with two brothers, who lovingly called her Poots! Norma was raised in the Judyville/Williamsport area, graduating from Williamsport High School. She then continued her education at the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette, Indiana. She began her nursing career in Lafayette, then decided it was time for an adventure. She took off on Route 66 and journeyed to northern California, finding work on the Hoopa Native American Reservation. 

Nursing was a bit different in Hoopa, a small clinic with one surgical suite and lots of home visits. On the way to her first midnight home birth, she found herself crossing a swinging bridge, carrying supplies in the pitch dark. In the morning she saw the Salmon River rushing under the bridge - she said she would never have crossed it if she had been able to see how high and how fast the river ran! But, she had to recross to get to the car - deep breath and a death grip on the rope handle! 

After a few years in Hoopa, she moved to Colorado to ski, but she liked the clothes more than the actual skiing. She then moved back to Indiana to go to school but, “I ended up getting married instead.” Norma married Ron Crane on February 3, 1963. After they were married Norma and Ron moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to start their life together. Soon Sara and Tim rounded out their family. In 1969 Norma and Ron moved back to Indiana to raise their family. 

Throughout her life, Norma lived life to the fullest. Her laughter was contagious. She loved telling a good story - even if it needed a bit of embellishment to get the laughs! She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling with her husband Ron and spending time with her friends; you never knew what she would be up to! 

Norma is survived by her daughter Sara Bartlett and grandchildren: Abbigail (Caleb) Kissel, Brady (Katie) Crane, Haley (Dakota) Grady, Kylie Crane and daughter-in-law Sara (Crane) Stumph. She also had the joy of three great grandchildren: Banks Crane, Grant Kissel, and Thea Grady. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Ron; parents Estel (Red) McIntosh & Mary McIntosh; brothers: Richard McIntosh, Bill (Butch) McIntosh, Jim Max McIntosh; her son Tim Crane, and granddaughter Elizabeth Crane.

 A graveside service will be held for the family. Norma requested that on her passing she wanted her family to have a party and celebrate her life! On Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 1092 W. Briscoe Rd, Williamsport, Indiana a Celebration of Life Party will be held to honor her wishes. Beginning at 5:00pm there will be a brief memorial with food and celebration to follow.
