Attica - Ona Kay (Best) Okuszki, 78 of Attica, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Deanna Hocking, in Lafayette, Indiana on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. with her family by her side.
Ona was born at home in Attica, Indiana on Christmas day, 1946.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Harold and Daisy E. (Smith) Best.  She was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1965.  She later moved to Plainfield, NJ.  After a few years in New Jersey, Ona returned home to Attica where she has lived most of her adult life.
While living in Attica, Ona formerly worked at Radio Material Corp. in Attica.  She later began working at CTS and Venetian Blind in West Lafayette until she retired.
Ona was formerly a member of the Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church and more recently became a member of the Attica Free Methodist Church.  She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Attica.  She cherished the time spent with her family. Ona enjoyed listening to music.
On July 10, 1965, Ona married Thomas "Tom" Joseph Okuszki in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.  Tom preceded her in death on May 27, 2017.
Ona leaves behind her three children, Thomas J. (Ofelia) Okuszki, Fishers, IN; Laura (Dave) Dietrich, Williamsport and Deanna ((David) Hocking, Lafayette; five grandchildren, Kierstyn (Rafael) De Los Angeles, Robert Okuszki, Natalie Jackson, Charles Okuszki and Maria Okuszki; two great-grandchildren, Selena and Ismael De Los Angeles.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica on Saturday, November 15th, from 1:00 p.m. until the service time at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Badgley officiating.
