Attica - Oval Dobson, 100, rural Attica, passed away in his home, with his wife by his side, on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:30 p.m.
Oval was born in Vest, Knott County, Kentucky on June 28, 1923.  He was the son of the late George and Sissie (Patrick) Dobson.   He was raised and educated in Kentucky, moving to Gary, Indiana in the 1950's.  He worked for U.S. Steel in Gary for over 30 years, retiring in the 1980's.  He later moved to Warren County, Indiana and resided in rural Attica since 1989.
Oval was well loved by family and friends.  He never met a stranger.
He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union.  He enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard and garden.
On October 19, 1959, Oval married Patricia "Peg" A. Crownover in Gary, IN.
Oval leaves behind his wife, Peg of soon to be 64 years along with two grandsons, David (Amanda) Dobson, Jr, Aliquippa, PA and Matthew (Robin) Dobson, Allison Park, PA; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and James; two sisters, Eilene Eangle, Dayton, OH and Girlie Fuller, Hindman, KY.  He was preceded in death by a son, David M. Dobson; two sisters, Alta Lawson and Julie Oliver along with two brothers, Arley and Arvil Dobson.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica on Friday, July 21st from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Dobson Cemetery near Hindman, KY.
