Paul Michael Anderson, known to all as Mike, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 26, 2026, following a courageous 15-year battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 80 years old.
Mike was born on April 12, 1945, in his family home in Attica, IN, the son of the late Paul and Margery (Beavers) Anderson. He graduated from Attica High School in 1963.
Mike proudly served six years in the Indiana National Guard. One of his fondest memories during his service was traveling to Puerto Rico for training, an experience he recalled often and with great pride.
On July 1, 1967, Mike married Joy Brown after meeting on a blind date. In 1972, Mike built the family home with his own hands, a lasting testament to his skill, determination, and commitment to providing for his family.
Mike dedicated 48 years of loyal service to Harrison Steel Casting Company, retiring from the pattern shop. Known for his skill, precision, and unwavering work ethic, he took great pride in his craft. In addition to his career, Mike was a talented handyman and carpenter, completing over one hundred jobs for families in the community.
Outside of work, Mike enjoyed gardening, playing golf, watching sports—especially the Cubs and the Bears—and spending time woodworking, building many meaningful items for his family. His hands were rarely still, and his creations remain lasting reminders of his care and craftsmanship.
Mike is survived by his wife, Joy Anderson; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including his daughters, Marsha (Tim) Ransom of Plainfield, IN, and Becky (Brad) Konkle of Anderson, IN; grandchildren Haley (Zack) Wilbur of Avon, IN, Aaron (Mackenzie) Ransom of Plainfield, IN, and Emma Konkle of Anderson, IN; and great-grandchildren Parker Wilbur, Avery Ransom, and Asher Wilbur. He is also survived by his brother, Danny (Jenny) Anderson of Marshall, IN.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Margery Anderson; his sister, Sue Cross; his brother, Jim Anderson; and his sister, Janice LaFoe.
Mike will be remembered as a man of quiet strength and integrity—someone who believed in doing things the right way and always putting family first.
