Williamsport - Randall "Randy" Linn Swanson, 73, formerly of Attica and had been residing in Williamsport, passed away in the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 8:18 p.m. following his failing health with Parkinson's Disease.
Randy, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Lafayette, Indiana on July 12, 1952.  He was the son of the late Leonard and June (Hanselman) Swanson.  Randy was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1970.  He has lived most of his life in Attica and more recently moved to Williamsport.  Randy grew up on the family farm south of Attica, where he learned his work ethic.  While going to school he worked at the Grab-It-Here and following graduation, became manager of the Grab-It-Here Store in Attica He later took photography schooling and worked with Doug Cripe with Doug's Studio in Attica.  He later worked with Brile's Excavating in Williamsport.  Randy loved to work with wood and was known for his workmanship with wood, whether it was stripping furniture, or rebuilding or remodeling homes and businesses.  In 1987 he started his own business and began restoring local buildings, such as the Old Church in Attica or for local people to restore their homes or businesses.  He was well known for his carpentry skills.  He was quite the workaholic and when he wasn't working he was spending time with family.  He enjoyed coaching little league in Williamsport or playing ping pong with his local friends.  Using his knowledge of photography, you could find him videoing his children in their sporting events.  He enjoyed bowling with his son, Drew or watching his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, play.  He was also an avid I.U. basketball fan.
On September 7, 1984, Randy married Lisa Ann Rolan in the Williamsport Christian Church.  He leaves behind his wife of nearly 41 years along with four children, Angie (Damon) Galloway, Alexandria, MN; Benjamin "Ben" (Lindsey) Crain, Daphne, AL; triplet daughters, Kelsie (James) Coree, Attica and Emily (Herbie Hewitt) Swanson, Attica; a brother, Steve (Brenda) Swanson, Norton Shores, MI; his mother-in-law, Lois Rolan, Williamsport. Randy's favorite job was being Poppy to his five grandchildren, Dane & Hattie Galloway of Minnesota; Drake & Rolan Crain, Alabama and Cooper Scheurich, Attica; Several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by a triplet son, Andrew "Drew" Swanson on August 23, 2015.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, August 24th, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.  Services will be held at the Old Church, 304 E. Main St., Attica, on Monday, August 25th, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating.  Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Community Foundation "Drew Swanson Scholarship Fund".
