Attica - Randy Ray Baker, 72, Attica, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 8:18 a.m. with his family by his side.
Randy was born in Lafayette, Indiana on December 16, 1953. He was the son of the late Charles and Alice (Padgett) Baker. Randy moved to Attica in his sixth grade year in school. He graduated from Attica High School in 1972. Randy first began working at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica right out of high school. He worked at Harrison Steel from 1972 - 1997. He then began working for TRW Automotive in Lafayette, which later became ZF Company. He worked there until his retirement in 2013.
Randy had been attending the Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL. He was a member of the Harrison Hills Country Club and enjoyed playing golf. He also enjoyed being on the water, fishing and boating. In his early years he liked to play softball. But most of his enjoyment came from being with his family.
On June 24, 1972, Randy married his high school sweetheart, Joni Lynn Young in the Attica Free Methodist Church by Pastor Darold Hill.
Randy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Joni of nearly 53 ½
years; a son, Corey (Jaime) Baker, Crawfordsville; a daughter, Diana (Dorsey) Eaton, Danville, IL; two brothers, Chuck Baker, Williamsport and Jeff (Pam) Baker, Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Joanne (Lance) Borst, Attica and Joetta Baker, Williamsport; eight grandchildren, Greer Jordan II, Nicholas Jordan, Katie (fiancé - Chance Baer) Jordan, Brandon (Mariah) Baker, Ali (Marcus) Rich, Manson (Hannah) Simmons, Kayleigh (companion - Kevin) Baker and Rae Ann Baker; five great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Bentlee, Cooper, Maverick and Braxen; Randy was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred (Linda) Baker.
Friends will be received at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, December 23rd from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Randy's brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Young speaking. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
