Covington - Raymond Herbert Landreth, 75, Covington, passed away in the Waters of Covington on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 6:11 p.m.
Raymond was born in Williamsport, Indiana on September 7, 1947. He was the son of the late Mary Lela (Landreth) Wilfong. He was raised in Williamsport and Oklahoma. He had lived in Veedersburg and more recently in Covington. He had resided The Waters of Covington since 2019. He had attended school in Williamsport.
Raymond served in Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. At the time of his honorable discharge he had attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.
Raymond worked as a nursing assistant with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, Illinois for 38 years, retiring in 2010.
He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica; member of the American Legion Post # 263 of Cayuga and a life member of the AMVETS Post # 61 of Rockville. He enjoyed camping and fishing. His favorite pastime was preparing campfire starters.
Raymond was married to Judith Ann Hutts on March 10, 1983 in Cayuga, IN. Judith preceded him in death on March 31, 2021.
Raymond leaves behind his care giver, Lesli Bolton of Covington and a good friend, Matthew Strawser of Covington.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, July 25th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Harold Varner officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the V.A. National Cemetery, Danville, IL.
