Raymond Paul Shoaf

Pine Village - Raymond Paul Shoaf, 93, formerly of Lafayette and Pine Village, passed away in the Majestic Care Center, Lafayette, on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 8:58 a.m.
Paul, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Warren County, Indiana on February 4, 1931.  He was the son of the late Eugene R. and Constance Irene (Talbert) Shoaf.  Paul was raised in Warren County and graduated from Pine Village High School in 1949.  In 1951 Paul enlisted in the Indiana National Guard, serving from 1951-1954.  At the time of his honorable discharge, he had attained the rank of Corporal in the Infantry.
Paul was a 50 year member and past master of the Pine Village Lodge # 315 F. & A.M.
Paul loved working.  In his life time he farmed in Warren County; was Swine Herdsman at Purdue University; a trim carpenter at National Homes in Lafayette; built homes and swimming pools with his brother Max Shoaf.  Later Paul formed his own construction company, building homes, restaurants and malls.
Paul was first married to Jeanne Ritenour on May 27, 1951.  He later married Elizabeth Garriott-Max on April 9, 1995 in Pine Village.
He leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Shoaf, Pine Village and from his first marriage, three daughters, Paula (Ernie) Barnes, of Adel, Iowa; their children, Joshua (Collin) Barnes and Courtney (Tyler) Anderson; their grandchildren, Darby & Sloan Barnes; Falon, Quay, Foley and Barnes Anderson; second daughter, Teresa Shoaf of Pine Village; third daughter, Cynthia Shoaf of Atwater, California; her children, Shamica Watley, Jamiela (Paulo) Machado, Michael Watley, Jeri Jenae Warren and Cameron Gallagher; her grandchildren, Dylan Watley; Tatyana, Gabriel, Jionni and Adonis Machado; Ainet, Delilah, Mikayla and Niko Watley; Elijah, Kyrie and Sage Warren; Libby's three  children, Sherry Max, Pine Village; Mike (Robin) Max, Lafayette and Bill (Paula) Max, Pine Village; six step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; his sister, Carol Leming, Otterbein.  He was preceded in death by siblings, Annabel Selbeck, Maxine Shoaf, Doris Terry and Max Shoaf along with a great-grandson, Truman Scott Barnes.
A special thank you goes to the Majestic Care staff and Southern Care Hospice staff for their expert care of Paul during his stay at Majestic Care in Lafayette.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, November 15th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Masonic Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Celebration of Paul's life at 1:15 with Daniel McFatridge officiating.  Burial with military honors will be held in the Armstrong Chapel Cemetery near Otterbein.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Village Bible Church or to the Truman Scott Barnes Tough Go Fund Me Account.
