Williamsport - Rebecca "Becky"Ann (Young) Bacon, 73, of rural Rainsville, passed from this life at the I.U. Cancer Center, Indianapolis, on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 1:05 p.m. with her family by her side.
Becky, as she was known to family and friends, was born on October 11, 1947 in Crawfordsville, IN. She was the daughter of the late Frank M. Young Sr. and Margaret Ruthanna (Franklin) Young. Becky was raised in Hoopeston, IL and graduated from Hoopeston High School in 1965.
On October 23, 1966, Becky married Teddy M. Bacon of rural Ambia, Indiana in Hoopeston, IL. In 1970 the couple relocated to rural Williamsport where they owned and operated the family farm and cattle business, providing 4-H "club calves" to multiple families throughout Indiana and beyond. Becky was an extremely hard worker and assisted in maintaining both the physical and financial aspects of the family business until her passing.
Becky was a proud and devoted mother to three children. She was a firm believer in education and took particular pride in "raising three college graduates." She enjoyed cooking for her family, the arts, sitting down with a good book and cup of tea, and the peacefulness of the farm. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her quiet, but strong nature and her tendency to simply "tell it like it is."
Becky leaves behind her loving husband, Teddy Bacon, of 54 years. She also leaves behind the couple's three children, Todd (Carmen) Bacon, Crawfordsville; Lisa (Todd) Bond, Lakeland, FL and Lacey (Dustin) Stonebraker, Avon, IN; five grandchildren, Dakota (Dylan) Sterrett, Maverick (Hannah) Bacon, Isaac Bacon, Teegan Bacon and Tyler "TJ" Bond; a great-grandson, Bentley Sterrett and a great-granddaughter expected in August. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Frank "Frankie" Young Jr. of Minnesota.
