Attica - Richard "Dick" Allen Slinker, 68, Attica, passed away as a result of a traffic accident in Tippecanoe County, Indiana on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:23 p.m.
Dick, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Williamsport, Indiana on November 9, 1955. He was the son of the late Leon "Buck" and Eunice L. (Pittman) Slinker. He was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1975.
Dick formerly worked at the Attica Ice Company in Attica, before transferring to Purdue University to work in maintenance. Following his retirement from Purdue in 2016, Dick worked with his daughters at Davis Drugs in Attica.
Dick was attending the Attica Free Methodist Church. He was a member of the Fountain Lodge # 60 F. & A.M.; member of the Scottish Rite and Zorah Shrine in Terre Haute. He was an avid Purdue sports fan.
Dick was married to MarSue Luann Spear for 43 years until her passing on June 20, 2020.
Dick leaves behind his two daughters, Laurie (Matt) Pierce and Leslie (Nick) Davis, both of Attica; his seven grandchildren, Aiden, Madeline, Adler and Mallory Pierce; Charles, Henry and Samuel Davis; his brother, Thom (JoAnna) Williams, Keiser, OR; his father and mother-in-law, Robert (Sandra) Spear, Greenwood, IN and Lois Duperey, Topsfield, MA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug and Don Slinker.
As per his wishes a private family service was held.
