Lafayette - Richard "Rick" E. Sichts, 60, Lafayette and a former Attica resident, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of the Franciscan Health East Hospital, Lafayette, on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 10:37 a.m.
Rick, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Lafayette, Indiana on May 6, 1963.  He was the son of the late Edvins "Ed" I. and Joyce Anne (Wineinger) Sichts.  Rick was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1981.  He later moved to Lafayette in 2006.
Rick married Pamela "Pam" S. Evans on March 4, 1983 in the Attica First Lutheran Church.
Rick worked at Subaru Automotive Plant in Lafayette from 1990 to the present.  He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and farming.  He enjoyed the time spent farming on his family farm.  He especially enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren, Chase, Hayden and Harper.
Rick leaves behind his wife, Pam of 40 years along with two children, Brandy (Mitch) Allen, Waynetown and Kyle (Mellisa) Sichts, Attica; a sister, Cindy (companion-Jim Baum) Faulkner, Attica; his three grandchildren, Chase Sichts, Hayden Allen and Harper Allen; his best friend from childhood, Bill (Jodi) Schmid, Attica.  He was preceded in death by his parents along with five unborn grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, December 29th, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.  A celebration of Rick's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. with his wife, family and friends speaking.
