Williamsport - Richard Dean Fouts, 81, Williamsport and formerly of Flora, Indiana, passed away at the home of his daughter, Lisa Jewell, on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 12:36 p.m.
Richard was born in Flora, Indiana on February 24, 1940. He was the son of the late John and Mary (McCarty) Fouts. He was raised in Flora and attended school in Flora.
Richard enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam. He was honorable discharged in 1966.
Richard worked as a body man for Mann's Chevrolet in Flora for many years. He later worked at Pioneer Hybrid Seed in Flora for twenty years. His last employment was at Sylvania in Seymour until his retirement.
Richard had served as a Cub Scout Master for over ten years. He also coached Little League in Flora. Richard enjoyed working on cars and showing his finished products. He was an avid card player and enjoyed the outdoors. He especially loved the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves behind a daughter, Lisa (Charles) Jewell, Williamsport; a son, Curtis (Jobi) Fouts, Nashville, IN; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard F. Fouts and a sister, Patricia Motosicky.
As per Richard's request there will be no formal service at this time with cremation services accorded him. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
