Attica - Richard Dean Kincade, 92, Attica, passed away at Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, on Saturday, August 24, 2024, with his daughter by his side.
Richard was born July 4, 1932.  He was the son of the late Lee Owen and Ila Pearl (Priest) Kincade.  He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1951, where he played basketball and ran track.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 and was in combat in Korea.  He worked in the Casting Department at C & D Batteries and retired from C & D in 1997 after 40 years.
On April 19, 1962, Richard married the love of his life, Mary Anne Morgan, in Williamsport.  She preceded him in death on July 10, 2016.  Their only child, Sheryl, was born in June of 1963.
Richard loved his family dearly and would do anything and everything he could for them.  He was a devoted caregiver to his wife the last few years of her life and the absolute best Dad a girl could ever have.  Mom and I were so blessed to have you in our lives.  I will forever love and miss you.
He was an I.U. basketball fan and enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke, taking care of his yard when he was able and going for rides on the weekend.  He loved to tease and make people smile.
Richard was baptized at the Williamsport Christian Church by the Rev. Doug Dickey, who also married Mary Anne and Richard.  Taking comfort in knowing they are they are together again and I will be with them, too, some day.
Richard leaves behind his daughter, Sheryl Kincade, Attica; a sister-in-law, Martha Morgan, West Lebanon; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve (Charles B.) Dillworth; Selma (Herbert) VanLeer and Nora (Milton) Bryant; six brothers, Doyal, Roland, Royal, Everett, Lowell and infant brother and a brother-in-law, Gerald Morgan.
A special thank you to his caregivers, Sheryl and Dennis, who loved him like family and helped me keep Dad at home.  Also, a special thank you Dr. Hafeez and his nurses and to the staff at Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital for always taking such good care of him.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, August 28th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Services for Richard will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 29th, at 11:00 a.m. with William Esau officiating.  Burial with military honors will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
