Attica - Ricky Lee Bixler, 70, of Riverside, passed away in the emergency room of the Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 1:28 p.m.
Ricky was born in Quincy, Indiana on January 5, 1954.  He was the son of the late John Leroy and Leota (Ruble) Bixler Sr.  He was raised in Spencer and later moved to Attica in the 60's where he attended both Davis and Logan Township Schools.
Ricky formerly worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica and later for Myers Steel Fabricating in Attica. He later worked by splitting wood and selling the wood.
Ricky enjoyed mushrooming; wood carving and riding his moped around.
On August 25, 1979, Ricky married Debra Rochelle Opperman in Attica.  Debra preceded him in death on March 14, 2002.
Ricky leaves behind three children, Joni L. (Brent) Sly, Covington; Josh E. (Cathy) Bixler, Attica and Jodi L. Bixler, Attica; a brother, Benny L. Bixler, Covington; Sisters, Barbara Jean Payne, Portland Arch; Sara "Sis" A. Butler, Covington and Alice Mary (David) Brault, Freedom, IN; six grandchildren, Dylan (Macy) Sly, Taylor (Justin) Hubble; Katie Sly; Brydan Gaskill, Nate Sly and Reese Sly; five great-grandchildren, Karsyn Hubble, Raiden Lowery, Rowan Hubble, Kolsyn Hubble and Wrenly England.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Clarkson and Carolyn Sue Township along with two brothers, John L. Bixler Jr. and Jimie Lee Bixler.
As per Ricky's request, cremation services were accorded him with a Celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
