Attica - Robert "Bob" Earl Howard, 81, Attica, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family by his side, at the home of his daughter in Lafayette on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
Bob was born near Pence in Warren County, Indiana on August 21, 1942.  He was the son of the late George and Emma (Jernagan) Howard.  He was raised in Warren County and attended Williamsport High School.  He has spent the last 40 years residing in Attica.
Bob worked as a crane operator at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica for several years, until his retirement.
Bob was a member and administrator of the Moose Lodge # 1482 in Attica.  He was a recipient of the "Gold Coat", an honor bestowed on Moose members who showed exemplarily service to the Moose Lodge.  Bob was a member of the Attica Christian Church.  He was an avid I.U. and L.A. Dodgers  sports fan and avid bowler, bowling in several leagues through the years at Shawnee Lanes.
Bob was first married to Carolyn Sue Felix.  He later married Nancy Marie (Helmerick) Hiller on April 18, 1992 in Attica, IN.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Nancy of 31 years along with four children, Angela (Tim) Phillips, Lafayette; Candi Little, Attica, Mary (Clint) Fink, Linden and Brad (Kelly) Hiller, Attica; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Howard and Bret Hiller; a great-grandson, Ayden; four brothers, Steve, Wayne, Dewey and Jim Howard along with two sisters, Kathleen Longest and Mae Wilson.
A memorial gravesite service for Bob will be held at the Riverside Cemetery, Attica, on Saturday, September 30th at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Clint Fink officiating.  A celebration of Bob's life will follow at the Moose Lodge, 200 E. Main St., Attica on Saturday, September 30th, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooseheart Foundation, Mooseheart, IL   60539.
