West Point - Roger Mitchell Cotten, 65, West Point, died unexpectedly at his home in West Point on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 4:53 a.m.
Roger was born in East Chicago, Indiana, on April 11, 1956. He was the son of Margie Maybelle (Mitchell) Cotten Gandy of Pine Village and the late Frank Z. Cotten. Roger was raised in East Chicago and had lived for the past 10 years in West Point.
Roger had worked at Venetian Blind in West Lafayette for 25 years and had just retired this year.
Roger enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren.
On June 1, 1996, Roger married Teresa June Locke in Scottsville, KY.
He leaves behind his wife, Teresa of 25 years along with two step sons, Jesse Martin and Harley Martin, both of Attica; a step daughter, Mareesa Martin, Attica; a brother, Mike Cotten; four sisters, Joyce (Jim) Hernandez, Cathy (Keith) Day, Donna (Jim) White and Carol (Bill) Shoaf; eight grandchildren, Keagan Martin, Andrew Martin, Damien Martin, Gavin Spidel, Makayla Martin, Zoe Martin, Makenzie Martin and Izabella Johnson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Cotten and his step father, Willie Gandy.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, June 5th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor William Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
