Attica - Roger Allen Rushin, 78, of Attica, died at 10:25 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville, IL.


Roger was born on January 18, 1942 in Bayard, NM. He was the son of the late Phillip and June (Wood) Rushin. He lived in New Mexico until he was five, then moved to Texas until the age of 10. Follwing Texas, he moved to Arkansas, then Indiana and back to Arkansas where he graduated from Valley Springs High School in Harrison, AR in 1960. He then joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Klondike, a repair ship that sailed out of San Diego and serviced ships in the Philippines and Hong Kong. Following his service, he moved to Attica where he has lived ever since.


Roger married Bonnie Kay Gray on November 24, 1965 in Riverside. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2019.


Roger had worked as a machinist for Rostone for over 20 years. He later worked for Peerless Pattern until his retirement. He attended the Riverview United Methodist Church in Independence. He was a member of the American Legion Post 52 in Attica and enjoyed attending the annual Navy Reunion in Branson, MO.


Survivors include a daughter, Annette Clark, Attica; Son, Phillip (Michelle) Rushin, Forest Lake, MN; sister, Margaret (Larry) King, Lafayette; brother, Spencer (Debbie) Rushin, Cherokee Village, AR; grandsons, Alex Clark & Roger Rushin. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jane Gray, and a brother, Jerry Rushin.


Private family services will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Independence. Contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 52, Attica. Condolences may be sent online at mausfuneralhome.com
