Attica - Ronald "Ron" Dean Butler, 71, Attica, passed away in the St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 10:15 a.m.
Ron, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Williamsport, Indiana on July 10, 1950. He was the son of the late Harley Earl and Anna Ellen (Lister) Butler. He was a life resident of Attica and attended Attica School.
Ron formerly worked for the City of Attica for 26 years. He later worked for C & D Technologies in Attica for 15 years until his retirement in 2009.
Ron enjoyed the outdoors and liked to hunt deer. He enjoyed the time spent with his family, especially around the holidays. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams compete, as he was a die-hard Chicago Cub fan and an avid I.U. basketball fan.
Ron was married to Nancy Jane Kelley on August 17, 1974 in Stone Bluff, Indiana.
Ron leaves behind his wife Nancy of nearly 48 years. He also leaves behind his three sisters, Ruth (John) Reed, Attica; Mary Gee, Williamsport and Darlene (Joel) Whitehead, Attica; a brother, Bill (Iris) Lister, Attica; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Gene Butler.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, on Monday, March 7th from 4:00 until service time at 6:00 p.m. with Brother Joel Whitehead officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
