Ronald E. Fisher passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Ron was born in Chicago, Ill., on February 5, 1944, and grew up in the Benton and Fountain County areas of Indiana. Dad was quite mischievous as a youth, and our family loved hearing his stories about the time he spent with Grandad Brown.

He met the love of his life, Janet (Nolan), in eighth grade when his family moved to Attica. Little did they know then that they would marry on July 3, 1961, and be together for 65 years. A day never passed that we didn’t hear Dad telling Mom how much he loved her.

He also loved the outdoors, where he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting with his sons and good friends. He always said that one thing he was most thankful for was a beautiful sunrise while sitting in a deer stand.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Kirsch; stepfather, John Kirsch; and father, Lawson Fisher.

He leaves behind his wife, Janet, of Punta Gorda, Fla.; his brother, Larry (Stephanie) Fisher, of Cocoa, Fla.; and niece, Michelle Fisher, of Orlando, Fla.; three children, Ron (Joni) Fisher of Punta Gorda, Fla., Troy (Cathy) Fisher of Attica, Ind., and Tammy (Jeff) Hoover of Lafayette, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service is planned with family and friends on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Attica Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice or St. Jude.
