Attica - Rosemary "Rosie" (Tribby) Stitt Watts, 91, formerly of Attica and Williamsport, passed away in The Waters of Covington on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 8:30 p.m.
Rosie, as she was called by family and friends, was born at home in Mellott, Indiana on February 25, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Charles Edwin Tribby and Pearl Marie (Wakeland) Hutchison. She later moved to Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1949. In 1952 she moved to Williamsport and resided there most of her life before returning to Attica later in her life.
Rosie first worked with Dr. Maris in his office in Attica. She later served as a home health care nurse to residents of Fountain and Warren counties. Rosie retired as a payroll accountant with the Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica.
She was a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and more recently had been attending the Attica Christian Church.
Rosie was first married to Delbert Stitt on May 4, 1952. Delbert preceded her in death on November 9, 1992. On August 25, 1995, Rosie married Larry Gene Watts in Tazwell, TN. Larry preceded her in death on February 11, 2011.
Rosie leaves behind her four children, Mark (Regina) Stitt, Covington; Jerry (Teresa) Stitt, Williamsport; Cathy (Rick) Smith, Covington and Jan (Steve) Long, Greencastle, IN; a half brother, Edwin "Ed" (Anita) Tribby, Royal Center, IN; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Charles "Sonny" Tribby.
A private family gravesite service will be held in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport, IN.
