Danville, IL - Roy Ralph Daniels, 74, Danville, IL, passed away in the Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 1:17 p.m.
Roy was born in Albany, Kentucky on February 6, 1949. He was the son of the late Jesse Buford and Ruby Nell (Madison) Daniel. Roy was raised in Hoopeston, IL, graduating from Hoopeston High School on June 6, 1967. Following graduation, Roy entered the U.S. Navy on August 6, 1967 and served during the Vietnam War. He had attained the rank of Personnelmen 3rd Class. Following his honorable discharge from the service he moved to Danville and worked at TeePak in Danville until his retirement.
Roy was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and golfing. He liked to gamble at the local casinos.
Roy was formerly married to Brenda Dodd.
He leaves behind his daughter, Tara (Alan) Hackerd, Attica; his companion of 25 years, Marianne Doan, Danville, IL; a brother, Jerry (Carolyn) Daniel, Hoopeston, IL and a sister, Judy (Wayne) Norris, Hoopeston, IL; a grandson, Zakkary Alan Hackerd, Delphi, IN.
As per Roy's request cremation services were accorded him and a memorial gravesite service will be held at a later date in the V.A. National Cemetery in Danville, IL.
