Attica - Ruth Ann (Butler) Reed, 76, Attica, passed away in the I.U. Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 9:07 p.m.
Ruth Ann was born in Attica, Indiana on August 6, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Harley Earl and Anna Ellen (Lister) Butler.  She was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1966.
Ruth Ann formerly worked at the former Alward Nursing Center in Attica.  She then worked at Radio Material Corp. in Attica; served as a cook for both the Hoosier Restaurant and the Red Barn Restaurant.  A lot of people remember her working in the Deli of the County Market in Attica before her retirement.  She also did elderly care for local residents.
She was a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica.  She had attended the Attica Free Methodist Church.  She enjoyed crocheting and watching televison at home.  She also loved to attend auctions with her husband, John.
On September 23, 1967, Ruth Ann married John Kenneth Reed in the Attica Church of the Nazarene.
Ruth Ann leaves behind her husband, John of 56 years along with a son, John Kenneth Reed Jr., Attica; two sisters, Mary Gee, Williamsport and Darlene (Pastor Joel) Whitehead, Attica; a brother, William "Bill" (Iris) Lister, Attica; several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by twin brothers, Ronald & Donald Butler.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, February 21st, from 4:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Joel Whitehead officiating.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Bethel Cemetery, east of Attica.
