Veedersburg - Ryan Thomas Gayler, 48, of rural Veedersburg, died at his residence with family by his side at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Ryan was born on July 19, 1976 in Danville, IL.  He was the son of Thomas "Tom" Gayler and Janice Hershberger.  He grew up in Kingman and graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1994.  He moved with his family to Veedersburg in 2011.  He worked for Nucor Steel in Crawfordsville for over 27 years.
Ryan was a man of tremendous faith and lived to serve the three F's; Faith, Family and Finances.  He was an active member of the Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg but had recently been attending church in Illinois to spend more time with his family.  He lived by the adage "Handle Hard Better."  He loved his work and working on home projects and was proud to have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  He enjoyed following high school basketball.   He was into health and fitness but would splurge by indulging in ice cream.
Ryan married Toni Minick on March 30, 2002 in Hillsboro.  She survives along with four children, Hannah (Davin) Craft, Covington, Seth Gayler, Isaac Gayler and Marcus Gayler, all of Veedersburg; two grandchildren, Kayree & Kharis; father, Thomas "Tom" (Gregg) Gayler, Port Charlotte, FL; mother, Janice (Jim Lee) Hershberger, Hillsboro; sister, Shannon (Adam) Hoagland, Veedersburg; brother, Jaron (Heather) Gayler, Crawfordsville; father and mother-in-law, Scott & Leisa Minick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester & Ruth Gayler and Howard & Dorothy Davenport.
Visitation will be held at the Sterling Christian Church on Thursday, March 13 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.   A private family service will be held at a later date.  Contributions may be made to the family to set up a college fund for Ryan's son, Marcus.
