Sandra Harvey, 82, of Attica, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
She was born in Berwyn, Illinois on October 30, 1942 to the late Walter and Mary (Redmond) Buege. She grew up in Sheldon, Illinois, and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1960, where she was valedictorian of her class.
Sandy is survived by the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Harvey, whom she married on June 23, 1962 in Sheldon, Illinois. After living there for several years, they moved to Hannibal, Missouri before eventually settling in Fowler, Indiana in 1972.
Sandy and Dick raised three children: Dave Harvey of Oxford, Indiana; Russ (Margie) Harvey of Celestine, Indiana; and Kris (Greg Kryder) Harvey of San Marcos, California. They all survive.
Sandy adored her nine grandchildren: Heather Harvey, Erik Harvey, Sheila (Nathan) Wagner, Stephanie (Dustin) Brown, Scott Harvey, Daniele Fording, Dirk (Holly) Rainbow, Ariel (Charlie Wood) Rainbow, and Hannah Harvey.  And, she cherished her 15 great-grandchildren: Bailey Brown, Cam Brown, Isabella Flynn, Miles Flynn, Birkeley Harrigan, NayVee Harvey, Ollie Jones, Carson Wagner, Conner Wagner, Cruz Wagner, Grayson Wagner, Madisyn Wagner, Makenna Wagner, Matéa Wagner, and Sienna Wagner.
Sadly, Sandy was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Christopher Harvey, and two great-grandsons, Leo David Flynn, and Jaden Gage Harvey.
Sandy was a loving wife and mother, and an especially devoted grandmother who enjoyed hosting holiday meals for everyone. She always made everything from scratch, and served vegetables she grew in her garden that she canned for the winter. She served as a den mother for her sons' Cub Scouts troop, and volunteered at swim meets while her three kids were on the Fowler Swim team. She was active in the Fowler Chamber of Commerce and assisted with Fowler's Fourth of July celebration.
In addition to spending time with her family, her other interests included reading, card games, board games, macramé, growing wildflowers, rooting for the Cubs, and traveling. She and Dick visited family and friends across the United States, and traveled extensively in Europe and Australia. Having played tennis in high school, Sandy was an avid tennis fan throughout her life, and was thrilled to have attended each of the four tennis grand slam tournaments.
Sandy managed the Bureau of Motor Vehicles license branch in Fowler before joining the administrative staff of Purdue University's College of Agriculture undergraduate advisors office in 1987, work she found greatly fulfilling with coworkers she very much admired, and who admired her. She retired from Purdue in 2007 after she and Dick moved to Attica, Indiana.
Sandy will be remembered for her strength, courage and dry sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Maus Funeral Home in Attica, Indiana from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following from 6:30 to 7:00 pm.  Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Fowler Public Library.
