Attica - Sandra "Sandy" Sue (Jones) Sundt Brier, 79, Attica, passed away, with her family at her side, in the St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 5:16 a.m.
Sandy was born in Williamsport, Indiana on September 26, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Earl Casey and Hazel D. (Bowman) Jones. She was a life resident of Attica. Sandy formerly worked as a waitress at the Hoosier Restaurant, Attica Hotel and Harrison Hills Country Club. She later worked in the kitchen at the Attica High School and for many years worked at Ruby's Fashions in the shopping center in Attica. She also assisted at Attica Floral with helping with plants to deliveries. Her last job was working the Deli Department at the County Market in Attica. She assisted with the bookkeeping of the Sundt Standard Station that was co-owned by her husband, Garlyn Sundt.
Sandy volunteered for many years at the Gift Shop in the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1482 of Attica.
On April 25, 1968, Sandy married Garlyn E. Sundt in Attica. Garlyn preceded her in death on January 25, 2008. She later married William "Bill" Robert Brier on March 26, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV.
She leaves behind her husband, Bill of 14 years along with three children, Charles "Chuck" (Amber) Sundt, Attica; Mona (Dick) Waterstraat, Attica and Mellisa (Rusty) Drake, Williamsport; eight grandchildren, Aaron (Megan) Waterstraat, Matt (companion-Natasha Wilderman) Sundt, Mike Sundt, Madison (Kobee) Slinker, Noah Head, Zach (Courtney White) Drake, twins Garrett (Vanessa Martinez) Drake and Gracie Drake; four great-grandchildren, Payton, Indie, Willa and Marshall; two sisters, Judith "Judy" Bosch, Mesa, AZ; Kathy Nelson, Brookston and a sister-in-law, Shelley Jones, Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Jones.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, June 13th, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Rich Stoll officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Paws 'n Claws Animal Shelter.
