Clayton - Sharon Kay (Funk) Pheifer, 83, Clayton, IN, passed away in the Plainfield Healthcare , Plainfield, IN, on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:40 p.m.
Sharon was born in Lafayette, Indiana on August 4, 1941.  She was the daughter of the late Orville Eugene and Mary Elizabeth (Dillman) Funk.  Sharon was raised in Lafayette and also lived in Stockwell, Clarks Hill and Carmel, before moving to Clayton in 1998.  Sharon graduated from Laurime High School in 1959.  After graduation, Sharon worked as an office manager for Dr. Batchleder, a cardiologist in Lafayette.  After moving to Clayton, Sharon worked as an office manager at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove and Hendricks Regional Hospital before retiring.
Sharon was a member of the Carmel Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed animals and served as a secretary for the Florida Quarter Horse Association.
Sharon was formerly married to Ron Bidwell and Jim Pheifer.
She leaves behind her daughter, Molly Bidwell (Paul) Hammond, Clayton, IN and her son, David (Becky) Bidwell, Cicero, IN; three grandchildren, Zachary (Kristin) Hammond, Jacob (Britany) Hammond and Krista (Jared) Bidwell Smith; five great-grandchildren, Griffin, Chance, Aiden, Macey and Miley.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Virginia Goodnight.
As per Sharon's request, cremation services were accorded her and there will be no formal services.  Inurnment of her cremated remains will be next to her parents in the Salem Cemetery, east of Attica at a later date.
