Williamsport - Sherry Lynn (Best) Hallett, 54, of rural Williamsport, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. following her failing health since 2007.
Sherry was born in Home Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana on April 8, 1967. She was the daughter of the Harold Best of Attica and the late Bonnie (Glass) Best and was helped raised by the late Donald Wilson. Sherry grew up in Attica, Williamsport and West Lebanon. She has resided in West Lebanon for most of her life. She attended grade school in Attica and Williamsport and graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in 1985.
Sherry had worked at SAL Meat Processing Plant in Williamsport and later worked as a waitress/bartender at I & I Steak House near Danville; the Feed Mill in West Lebanon; Shep's Jim Dandy Restaurant in West Lebanon and Our Place in Williamsport. She had recently been working at Tru Flex in West Lebanon until she became injured.
She had attended the Church of the Living Water in rural Williamsport. She enjoyed hunting ginseng and fishing. She enjoyed the time spent riding with her husband on his motorcycle. She adored her grandchildren and the time spent with them.
On February 14, 1992, Sherry married Von W. Hallett in Williamsport. They have spent 35 years together with 29 of those years married.
She leaves behind her husband Von, along with three children, Dylan Hallett, Williamsport; Brittany (Adam) Trusty, North Judson and Hannah Hallett, Williamsport; eight grandchildren, Jayden, Mylie and Carter Hallett; Nolan, Waylon, Brayden and Lennon Trusty; Isaac Hallett. Her father and step-mother, Harold & Millie Best, Attica; a sister, Nada James, Covington; two brothers, Harold Dean Best, Lafayette and Donnie (Chrissy) Best, West Lebanon; a special uncle and aunt, Mike & Susan Glass, Florida.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, June 8th, from 5:00 p.m. until the memorial service time at 8:00 p.m. with family and friends speaking. Inurnment of her cremated remains will be held at a later date in the West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maus Funeral Home for expenses.
