Terre Haute - Shirley Ann Bernarte, 65, Terre Haute, IN, passed away in the emergency room of the Union Hospital, Terre Haute, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 7:39 a.m.
Shirley was born in Williamsport, Indiana on July 1, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Viola (Totheroh) Bernarte. Shirley was raised in the Possum Hollow area just east of Attica and later loved to the Pine Village area in 1962. She attended Rainsville and Pine Village schools. She has lived most of her life in Terre Haute.
Shirley enjoyed fishing.
She leaves behind her two brothers, Frank W. Bernarte, Brazil, IN and Carl W. (Rae Anne) Bernarte, Turner, IN; a sister, Rosemary (Donald) Swank, Center Point, IN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Smith.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, January 20th, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Inurnment of Shirley will be held at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. All people attending the gathering for Shirley will be required to wear masks and keep social distancing.
