Attica - Shirley Ann (Bisner) Barton Fox, 78, Attica, passed away in the Autumn Trace of Attica, on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 2:22 p.m.
Shirley was born in Lafayette, Indiana on March 25, 1945.  She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Thelma (Cox) Bisner.  She was raised in Rainsville and attended Rainsville School until the 8th grade and graduated from Pine Village High School in 1963.  She lived most of her life south of Attica in Rob Roy.  She later moved to Lafayette and had resided in Autumn Trace since August of 2023.
While living in Attica, Shirley managed the dining area of the Harrison Hills Country Club.
She was a past member and past president of the Eagles Lodge # 2596 of Attica and was a current member of the Eagles Lodge # 347 of Lafayette.  She was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica.
Shirley was first married to Paul Barton.  She later married Richard Fox on October 17, 1987 in Attica.  Richard preceded her in death on August 5, 2019.
Shirley leaves behind two sons, Wyatt (Cathy) Barton, Tampa, FL and Matthew (Susan) Barton, Rainsville; a step son, Steve (Brenda) Fox, Brandon, FL; her best friend of over 40 years, Margaret Birden, Lafayette; a special friend and care giver, Nancy Mickle, Attica; her sister, Judy (Harry) Kientz, Newport, IN; several grandchildren, step grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Karlstrand and two brothers, Jim Perrin and Tom Bisner.
As per Shirley's request cremation services were accorded her and a memorial gravesite service will be held in the Rainsville Cemetery on Wednesday, February 28th, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating.
