Veedersburg - Steven Ray Dobbs, 63, formerly of Veedersburg and had been residing in Attica and Williamsport, passed away in the Franciscan Health East Hospital, Lafayette on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 11:10 p.m. due to complications from lung cancer.
Steven was born in Danville, Illinois on March 27, 1956. He was the son of the late Raymond Roscoe and Ella Marie (Blacketer) Dobbs. Steven was raised in Veedersburg and attended Fountain Central High School. He later moved to Attica and more recently to Williamsport.
Steven worked for many years at the Fountain County Highway Garage as a mechanic. He more recently retired due to his health.
Steven had attended the Sterling Christian Church and enjoyed the outdoors where he liked to camp and fish. He also enjoyed working on vehicles. His favorite pastime was the time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
He was formerly married to Crystal (Griffin) Lister of Williamsport.
Steven leaves behind his two sons, Steven Tyler Dobbs, Attica and Collin Ray Dobbs, Williamsport; a daughter, Nikki Lynn Dobbs of Williamsport and a brother, Alan Dobbs, Portland Arch; his four grandchildren, Nevaeh, Tanner, Tristan and Colten Dobbs along with a soon-to-be granddaughter, Praylynn Dobbs; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diana Bilstad.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, December 10th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg, along side his sister and parents. The family would welcome covered dishes to be delivered to their residence at 612 North Street in Williamsport.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home for expenses.
