Attica - Steven Bly Frodge, 74, Attica, passed away in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 8:13 p.m.
Steve, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Williamsport, Indiana on June 6, 1950.  He was the son of the late Arthur Ray and Frances (Bly) Frodge.  Steve was a life long resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1968.  While attending Attica High School he played football for the Ramblers and was in the high school band.  He served as Drum Major for the marching band and was active in musicals in the school plays.  He played the role of mayor in the Music Man and had the lead in Damn Yankees.  Following graduation from high school, Steve attended Purdue University and received his degree in Foundry Technology in 1972.  He then returned to Attica and worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company for 43 ½ years retiring as Melting Superintendent of the Foundry in December of 2013.  While working at Harrison Steel he served on the Board of Directors of the Iron and Steel Society and also served as Chairman of the Electric Furnace Division of the Iron and Steel Society.
Steve was active in the Attica community by serving as Precinct Chairman of the Republican Party for 4 years.  He served on the City Council for two terms and on the Fountain County Council for two terms.  He was a Golden Eagle member of the Eagles Aerie Lodge # 2596 of Attica, serving two terms as Worthy President of the Lodge.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1482 of Attica.
Steve attended and was baptized in the Attica First United Methodist Church.  He served for 20 years as a volunteer fireman for the City of Attica.  He enjoyed the outdoors where he liked to hunt mushrooms, fish and collect Indian artifacts.  He was a big Purdue University basketball fan.  He enjoyed wintering in Treasure Island, Florida and visiting with friends.
On October of 1982, Steve married long time friend, Sandy A. Macy in Lafayette.  He leaves behind the love of his life, Sandy of 42 years.  Also two children, Terri (Clark) Jeffries and Greg (Jamie) Kerr, both of Attica; a sister, Pat Benson, Clinton, IN; six grandchildren, Erica (Darrin) Veasey, Courtney (Gabe) Hurt, Caiden Jeffries, Kaylee Kerr, Macy Kerr and Owen Kerr; 7 great-grandchildren; a nephew, Ryan Frodge and two nieces, Melissa Hall and Kelly Frodge.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Frodge and a sister, Betty Boswell.
As per Steve's desire, cremation services were accorded him and a private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
