Williamsport - Steven R. Lanie, 70, of rural Williamsport, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 6:00 a.m.
Steve was born in Danville, Illinois on August 29, 1951. He was the son of the late Raymond "Slim" and Maxine (Cox) Lanie. Steve was a life resident of Warren County, graduating from Seeger Memorial High School in 1969. He received an associates degree in Agriculture from Danville Area Community College.
He had farmed all of his life in Warren County. He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in West Lebanon. He had served in the Indiana National Guard. Being a husband, father and pappy was the most important thing in his life,. He was the happiest and proudest when he was with his family.
Steve married Joanna "Peppy" L. Holloway in his home on December 5, 1976
Steve leaves behind his wife, Peppy of nearly 45 years along with a son, Jacob "Jake" (Jessica) Lanie and a daughter, Lyndsey (Joe) Salts, both of Williamsport; four grandchildren, Joanna Salts, Jacob Salts, Lorelei Lanie and Charlie Lanie.
A private family gravesite service will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church or the Seeger Memorial High School Athletic Department.
