Hillsboro - Thomas Fred Eitnier, 61, Hillsboro, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 5:25 p.m. He had been ill since June.
Thomas was born in Crawfordsville, IN on July 3, 1959. He was the son of the late Gerald Benjamin and Nellie (Johnson) Eitnier. He was raised in Hillsboro, graduating from Fountain Central High School in 1978. After graduation Thomas entered the U.S. Army. He later transferred to the U.S. Navy and made a career in the Navy.
Thomas traveled the world in the military. He loved his family and his beloved dogs.
On August 17, 2011, Thomas married Beth A. Sturgeon in Crawfordsville.
He leaves behind his wife of nine years along with a son, Dennis Eitnier, Oxnard, CA; a step daughter, Megan Kirsch, Avon, IN; a brother, Jerry (Kathy) Eitnier, Hillsboro; a step grandson, Bryles Kirsch, Avon, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step son, Brandon Kirsch.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, on Friday, November 20th, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Inskeep officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
