Attica - Thomas Joe Fish, 75, Attica, passed away in Autumn Trace Senior Living, Attica on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:20 a.m. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Thomas was born in Carmel, Indiana on May 18, 1949.  He was the son of the late Wilfred Carlisle (Bill) and Evelyn Anabeth "Betty" (Heather) Fish.  Thomas grew up in Carmel, IN raised on a farm on County Line Road between Zionsville and Carmel. As a young man, he was active in 4-H showing pigs and horses. His passion for horses carried on throughout his life.
Tom's mother died suddenly when he was eleven years old, leaving him and his older brother, John, and younger sister,Sue, to fend for themselves while their father traveled for his  job during the week. Two years later his father married Marjorie Pauline Milhon Kutz, who brought her teenaged son, John Kutz, into the blended family. Tom was thrilled when Bill and Polly had two children together, Jean and James Edward.
Tom attended Carmel High School where he was an avid wrestler. He graduated from Carmel High School in 1967 and then attended Purdue University where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. While at Purdue he met his future wife Chrystal Downey. After graduating from Purdue with a degree in Agriculture, Tom worked for the Farm Bureau Co-op and other agri-chemical companies in central Indiana. He married Chrystal Downey and  moved to Shelbyville, IN where their daughter Macon was born.
When he retired, Tom moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana. While living in Crawfordsville, Thomas was attending the Rock Point Church. He felt it was important to give back to the community through volunteering in soup kitchens. He also spent a lot of time with the AA organization.
He recently moved to Attica to be near his daughter, Macon and her family. Tom enjoyed attending sporting and 4-H events for his grandchildren.
Thomas leaves behind his daughter, Macon (Adam) Beck, Attica; three grandchildren, Madalynn Beck, twins Jensen and Laykynn Beck; three brothers, John (Kathy) Fish, Birmingham, AL; Jim (Tammy) Fish, Carmel, IN and John (Alberta) Kutz, Red Lion, PA; a sister, Jean (Kent) Harris, Lafayette.  He was also an uncle to Michael Fish, Angela Fish, A.J. Barton, Jennifer Weaver, Matthew Kutz, Andrew Kutz, Kyle Harris, Luke Harris, Nichole Whitney, Brayton Fish, Mchale Fish, and Grayson Fish.
Preceding him in death were his father, his mother, his stepmother, his sister Sue Rogers, and his nephew Joshua Barton.
As per Thomas' request, cremation services were accorded him. Celebration of Life will be held for Tom on July 21st from 2-4 p.m. at The Landing On Division Road, 1057 E. Division Road, in Veedersburg, IN 47987.
