Laotto, IN - Tracy Lynn (Ashmore) Nelson, 54, formerly of Mellott and had been residing in Laotto, IN, passed away at her home in Laotto on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 7:45 a.m.
Tracy was born in Danville, Illinois on September 12, 1969.  She was the daughter of the late Virginia Lee (Keller) Pattengale.  She was raised in Mellott, graduating from Fountain Central High School in 1987. She later lived in Kokomo, IN before moving to Laotto five years ago.
Tracy, while living in the Mellott community, worked at the Covington and Williamsport nursing centers as a nursing aide.  She later worked as a waitress at the West Point Restaurant before moving to Kokomo.
Tracy had attended the Mellott Community Church.  She enjoyed Karaoke and playing card games.  She loved listening to her classic rock bands, such as Fleetwood Mac, ACDC and the Marshall Tucker Band.  She also enjoyed listening to country music.
Tracy married Keith Nelson on July 20, 2018 in Kokomo, IN.
Tracy leaves behind her husband Keith of five years along with two children, Kayla (Justin) Shelly, Kokomo and Dylan (Rhiannon) Ashmore, Wheeling, IL; two step children, Jenny (Chris) Knable, Kokomo and Tricia Nelson, Valparaiso, IN; a brother, Darrell (Debbie) Pattengale, Washington, IN; five grandchildren, Makayla Bell, twins Klaytin and Kolton Cook, Donald Shelly and Logan Shelly.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Scot Pattengale.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, March 9th, from noon until the service time at 3:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
