West Lebanon - Trenton "Trent" Wayne Gabbard, 68, West Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly at his home in West Lebanon, on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
Trent, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Tuscola, Illinois, on September 23, 1957. He was the son of Philip Wayne Gabbard of Champaign, IL and the late Phyllis Jeane (Chaplin) Brothers. As a child the family moved around a lot. Trent has lived in Attica and most of his adult life in West Lebanon. He graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in 1975.
Trent worked as an iron worker for Iron Workers Local Union #380 in Urbana, IL. He was a 50 year employee at the time of his retirement.
Trent enjoyed the outdoors where he liked to hunt. He loved working in his flower and vegetable garden. He liked to hunt mushrooms in the spring and ginseng. He was always up for a game of yahtzee. He loved taking the family on road trips in the car. He was an avid Indy and NASCAR race fan. He was an annual visitor to the Indianapolis 500 mile race with his wife, Ginger and good friend, John Salts II. His favorite NASCAR driver was Jeff Gordon.
On June 14, 2014, Trent married Virginia "Ginger" G. (Maggard) Manis in West Lebanon, IN.
He leaves behind his wife, Ginger, of being together 26 years. Six children, Rev. Trenton Wayne (Renee) Gabbard, Jr., Conway, AR; James Robert (Sherry) Gabbard, Hendersonville, NC; Trepp Andrew (Amber Merrell) Gabbard, Healdsburg, CA; Michelle Renea (Cory) Brundige, Williamsport; Tregg Lee (Kirsten) Gabbard, Lafayette and Nathaniel Brian Manis, Lafayette; his siblings, Randy Gabbard, Terre Haute, IN; Dave Gabbard, Williamsport; Ben (Gay Lynn) Gabbard, Tilton, IL and Geri Shirey, Danville, IL; seven grandchildren, Kelsey (Essau) Corona, Tyler Gabbard, Graci Brundige, Kloey Ransom, Keegan Gabbard, Everly Gabbard and Charlotte Gabbard; a great-granddaughter, Zoie Corona. He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Marcia Quast.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, November 23rd from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. with his son, Rev. Trenton W. Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery, West Lebanon, IN. Memorial contributions in Trent's memory may be sent to Riley Children's Hospital, 705 Riley Hospital Dr., Indianapolis, IN, 46202 .
