Independence - Vincent "Vinnie" Price, 54, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Independence on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 7:05 p.m.
Vincent was born in Harlan, Kentucky on October 1, 1966. He was the son of Carl Verhey of Independence and the late Mary Jane (Smith) Verhey. He was raised in Independence and graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in 1986.
After graduation, Vincent went to work at Cooksey Lumber Company in Williamsport. For 22 years Vincent worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company in the foundry. For the past 4 years he had been working at Nanshan America AAT in Lafayette.
Vincent was a gentle giant and was dedicated to his family. He was a very outgoing sort, very generous and always willing to help anyone. His favorite pastime was fishing. He enjoyed going to auctions with his friends, watching home repair shows on television. He liked to gamble and shop for antiques. He was always salvaging to make a deal with friends.
Vincent leaves behind his daughter, Kayla Price, Crawfordsville and a son, Michael Price, Lafayette; two sisters, Tina (Bill) Fauver, Veedersburg and Clydie Smith, Independence; two brothers, Charles Verhey, Independence and Dennis Smith, Attica; a good friend, who was like a brother to Vincent, Leonard "Tiny" Purcell, Jr., Independence; a close cousin, Mike Eads, Attica;
Friends may gather at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, November 20th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. As a precaution, all people are required to wear face masks during their attendance.
