Attica - Wallace "Red" Lee Jennings, 90, formerly of Attica and had been residing at the Fountain Springs in Covington, passed away in the Fountain Springs on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 8:28 a.m.
Red, as he was known to family and friends was born in Kingman, Indiana on October 9, 1934.  He was the son of the late Alonzo Burton and Rachel Marie (Hadley) Jennings.  Red lived all of his life in the Attica area and more recently at his home in Attica since 1954.  He was a 1953 graduate of Attica High School.
Red worked maintenance for several years at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica.  He later worked at Robintech and Anchor Hocking in Danville, IL.  Many people remember Red as the projectionist at the Devon Theater in Attica for many years, where he began working as a teenager in 1952.  He also served as the Community Action MAC Van driver for 14 years.
Red was a member of the Attica Free Methodist Church. He served in the Indiana National Guard.   He enjoyed raising a vegetable garden and collecting toy tractors and guns.
On May 17, 1980 Red married Linda Kay Gillespie in West Lebanon, IN.
He leaves behind his wife of 45 years along with his daughter, Christina L. Grandstaff, Attica; a step son, Billy James Taylor, Danville, IL;  two step daughters, Cathryn Kay Newton, Florence, AL and Tamera Walker, Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a step son, Timothy Lee Kennedy; 5 brothers, Sanford, infant Tommy, Charles Joseph, Donald Dean and Roy B. Jennings; 5 sisters, Catherine Jones, Beulah May, MaryLou Waymire, June Mathews and Norma Adams.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, September 18th, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Entombment will be held at a later date in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.  Memorial contributions  may be made to the Paws 'n Claws Animal Shelter, P.O.
