West Point - Wallace "Wally" R. Rosen, 81, West Point, passed away unexpectedly, in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 5:30 a.m.
Wally was born in Lafayette, Indiana on September 10, 1942.  He was the son of the late Frank Oscar Vitalas and Maxine Lenora (Buckles) Rosen.  He was a life resident of West Point, graduating from Southwestern High School in 1960 and later receiving his Associates Degree from Ft. Wayne International Business College and Indiana Business College.
Wally began his career by being a bookkeeper for the Lafayette CO-OP.  He later worked as a delivery man for the Brownberry Bread Company in Lafayette.  He retired, after twenty years,  as a chemical operator for Eli Lilly in Lafayette.
Wally was a member of the West Point United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and operated the Rosen Greenhouse in West Point with his father and brother from 1967-1988.  He was an avid mens basketball fan of the Purdue University Boilermakers.  Wally served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War and at time of his honorable discharge on October 28, 1969 he had attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Wally was first married to Carolyn J. Cooper in West Point, IN.  He later married Pamela J. (Irwin) Garriott on July 21, 1986 in West Point, IN.
Wally leaves behind his wife, Pamela of 37 years.  He also leaves behind two sons, Troy Rosen and Trevor Rosen, both of West Point; two step sons, Wade (Jenny) Garriott, Odell and Ryan (Aubrey) Garriott, West Point; a sister, Sonya (Brad) Meadows, Romney and a brother, Ronald (Shirley) Rosen, Frankfort; three grandchildren, Seth Rosen and Trace Rosen, both of Lafayette; Tisha Forkeotes, Fredericksburg, VA; ten step grandchildren, Cole, Clint, Cline, Cale, Maeley, Gabby, Maddie, Raelor, Rylon and Ramsey Garriott; three great-grandchildren, Mackenze and Kaden Forkeotes; Xavier Doyle.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, December 8th from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in the West Point Cemetery, West Point, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to the West Point Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 102, West Point, IN 47992.
