Lafayette - Warren Manson Cole, 92, Lafayette, died Friday, May 13, 2022, at the home of his daughter Cherie, surrounded by family. Born December 29, 1929, in Attica, IN he was the youngest son of the late Claude M. and Abbie J. ( Bartlett) Cole. Growing up in Williamsport, he graduated from Williamsport High School as Salutatorian of the Class of 1947. He served in the US Army and supported the railway operation during the Korean Conflict.
He worked at Fairfield Manufacturing Company, Lafayette and The United States Postal Service, West Lafayette. He served as a letter carrier for 30 plus years.
He was a kind man who had many friends from work, neighbors and his pool friends at Faith Pool. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Charlotte "Kay" (Bratton) Cole. He is survived by son, Warren Malcolm (Marcia) Cole of Pierceton, IN; daughter, Cherie (LC) Barr of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Michele (Jay) Garr, Nicholas Cole and step granddaughter Latetia (Earl) Coleman; great granddaughters Augusta, Guinevere and Adeline Garr; Rashaan (Ilyana) Coleman and Briana Coleman; sister-in-laws Betty Hanthorne and Jeannine Aldred; brother-in-laws Tolly Lauretti and Raymond Lee (Judy) Bratton; several nieces and nephews.
A military memorial graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport, with Chaplain Dan Jordan officiating.
