Attica - Wesley "Wes" Dale Elmore, 69, Attica, passed away in the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 8:59 a.m. following a stroke that he suffered earlier in the week.
Wes was born in Lafayette, Indiana on September 19, 1951. He was the son of the late Marvin Dean and Catherine Lucille (Pycke) Elmore. He was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1969.
He worked for Landis Gyr in Lafayette. He also worked at Pillsbury Elevator in Tab, Harrison Steel and C & D Battery in Attica. More recently he was a self-employed contractor.
Wes was raised in the Catholic faith. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting mushrooms, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed the time spent with his family. He was an avid I.U. fan and enjoyed watching sports.
He was formerly married to Tracie Hargan.
He leaves behind a daughter, Meagan (Kenny) Black, Attica; two brothers, Marvin Dean (Linda) Elmore Jr., Williamsport and Mark A. Elmore, Richmond, KY; a grandson, Evan Black; four step grandsons, Alex, Zach, Koby and Brayden Black.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, March 12th, from 6:00 p.m. until the service time at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. David Rasner officiating. Following cremation Wes will be inurned in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, next to his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Paws 'n Claws Animal Shelter.
Masks and social distancing are still encouraged to visitors attending the services.
