Attica - William "Bill" Lewis Hysong, 86, of the Riverside community, passed away in the Franciscan Health East Hospital, Lafayette, IN on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 3:00 a.m.
Bill, as he was known to family and friends, was born at home in Attica, Indiana on October 11, 1938. He was the son of the late Aaron "Jack" H. and Donola Dell (Lewis) Hysong. Bill was a life resident of the Riverside community and attended Attica High School.
Bill worked at Vulcan Material in West Lafayette, Neal Gravel in Attica and Purdue University in Production Unlimited. He retired from Industrial Plating in Lafayette in 2000. After retirement he worked at the County Market and Home City Ice, both in Attica. You would always recognize Bill by him riding his bicycle around town.
Bill served in the Indiana National Guard from 1958-1961. He attended the River Springs Church in Independence. He was always busy working in the yard. He enjoyed hunting mushrooms, fishing and traveling with his wife, Dianne.
Bill married Dianne Lee Saffell on September 13, 1969 in Attica. He leaves behind his wife, Dianne of 55 years along with a sister, Calene (Dale) Christophel, Columbus, IN; two brothers, Jack (Nancy) Hysong, Tucson, AZ and John (Sharon) Hysong, Lafayette; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Hysong.
A gravesite service with military honors will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica, on Thursday, October 24th, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Paws 'n Claws Animal Shelter.
