Wilma "Maxine" Jernagan Johnson surrendered her sweet soul to Heaven and joined her husband of fifty years, Carl Johnson Jr., on November 16 ^th , 2020.  Maxine was a resident of Conway, AR.  Maxine was born August 23, 1938 to Helen (Armstrong) and Warren Jernagan.  Maxine had four sisters, one brother, and two siblings that passed early in their years.  Maxine was preceded in death by her siblings, Jeannine (Jerry) Shoaf, Linda (Eugene) Gregory, Jake (Jane) Jernagan, and Charlene (Hubert) Davis. Surviving is Mary (Bill) Shoaf.

Maxine married Carl Johnson of Attica, IN on June 1, 1957.  They had three children, James M. Johnson of Carmel, IN, Diana J. Grogg of Carmel and Kathy (Dan) Leak of Conway, AR.  Maxine had eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Maxine was a 1957 graduate of Williamsport High School. She worked alongside Carl in their insurance agency in Attica until they retired and moved to Conway, AR.  Maxine was a member of Rotary Club and an active member of her church in Indiana and Arkansas.  She loved being with her family, quilting, and taking care of everyone she met.  We will miss her smile and welcoming spirit.  Her smile will be greatly missed but her family is comforted that she now enjoys peace and Joy in Heaven. A service will be held in her honor on June 5 ^th at 11 AM, at the Attica Christian Church.
